Ascended Master - The Egyptian God Osiris

Isis appealed to the sun god, Ra, for help. Ra revealed his secret to Isis, who spoke the word to revive Osiris. In their joyful reunion, the couple conceived their son, Horus.

What does Egyptian God Osiris look like?

•  Osiris is typically depicted with green or black skin, symbolizing rebirth, fertility (like the fertile Nile mud), and decay.
• He is often shown in a mummiform (wrapped like a mummy from the chest down), wearing an atef crown (a tall, white crown with plumes), and holding the crook and flail, symbols of kingship and authority.
• HIs connection to mummification is significant, as he was considered the first mummified being and the archetype for all Egyptians hoping for an afterlife.

Importance in Egyptian Kingship and Afterlife:

• The myth of Osiris was central to the concept of divine kingship. The living pharaoh was identified with Horus (the sone who avenged his father and claimed the throne), while the deceased pharaoh became Osiris, joining him in afterlife.
• For ordinary Egyptian, Osiris represented the hope of rebirth and an afterlife. It was believed that after death individuals would be judged by Osiris in the underworld.

Osiris's story embodies themes of death, sacrifice, resurrection, and the triumph of order over chaos, making him a profoundly significant figure in ancient Egyptian cosmology.
